MONROE — Behind the strength of 11 three-pointers, Monroe defeated Clinton-Massie 72-31 Tuesday night.

Cobe Euton led Clinton-Malssie with nine points.

Colt Howard led the Hornets with 24 points. D Hernandez had 18 points. The two combined for eight three-pointers.

Hornets improve to 11-1 on the season.

Monroe controlled the game from the start, leading 15-6 after one. The Falcons showed some life in the second but still trailed 32-19 at halftime.

Any thoughts of a Clinton-Massie comeback were thrwarted in the third as the Hornets put 31 points on the board to grab a 63-28 lead.

Clinton-Massie goes to 3-7. Monroe is 11-1 and has won eight in a row.
